인천 공항 기준 오후 9시 15분 발 비행기
A flight departing Incheon Airport at 9:15 PM.
저녁은 마티나 골드 라운지에서 품위 있고 우아하게.
Dinner was at the Martina Gold Lounge, dignified and elegant.
아니 배터지게 먹었어요.
No, I ate until I was stuffed.
마지막 만찬이라고 즐기라고 …
They told me to enjoy it like it was my last supper...
사실 막상 태국이든 베트남이든 도착하면 거기가서도 엄청 먹어댐.
But honestly, once I get to Thailand or Vietnam, I'll be eating a lot there too.
마지막 만찬은 아니지만, 오늘이 마지막인 듯이.
So, it's not the last supper, but I'm eating like today is my last day.
이번에 인천 제2 공항을 증축해서 그런지 건물도 천장이 더 멋있어지고, 비행기 타러 가는 길도 더 멀어졌다.
They expanded Incheon Terminal 2, so the building's ceiling is more 멋있어지고, and the walk to the gate got even longer.
비행기를 한 참 타고 가는데 승무원들이 새끼 고양이를 찾는다면서 통로 바닥을 기어다니면서 숨바꼭질을 하고 있어요.
A little way into the flight, the flight attendants were crawling on the floor of the aisle, playing hide-and-seek and looking for a kitten.
이게 뭔 상황인가 싶었지만, 숨어 있는 고양이 찾는 것은 거의 불가능에 도전하는 모험 같은 일이고, 아니 헛수고라 생각이 드는 데.
I wondered what was going on, but finding a hidden cat seemed like an impossible adventure, a futile effort.
승무원 네 명이 복도에 줄줄이 엎드려서 기어다니는 모습을 보니 안쓰럽기도 하고 재밌어보이기도 해서, 나도 핸드폰 후레쉬 비춰가면서 동참했어요.
Seeing four flight attendants lined up, crawling down the aisle, made me feel a little sorry for them but also amused, so I joined in, shining my phone's flashlight.
사진이라도 남기고 싶었지만, 무례한것 같아서 안 찍어둠.
I wanted to take a picture, but it felt rude, so I didn't.
새벽에 쑤안나품에 도착해서 입국심사 한 참 기다려서 통과 받으니 역시 공항은 대한민국이 최고라는 생각이 들어서 괜한 국뽕이 차오름.
We arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport in the early morning and had to wait a long time to get through immigration. It made me realize that Korea's airports are the best, and I felt a surge of national pride.
1층에 가득한 택시들 뒤쪽으로 그랩 사무실 같은게 보여요.
Behind the taxis on the first floor, I could see what looked like a Grab office.
그랩을 잡고 저기서 대기하면 될듯.
It seems you can just get a Grab and wait there.
근데, BYD 신차 등 멋진 차들도 많은데 우리차는 하필 오래된 도요타!
There were so many cool new cars, like the BYD, but our car, of all things, was an old Toyota!
뽑기 실패 인정하고 그냥 숙소로 감.
I admitted we failed the car lottery and just headed to the hotel.
30분쯤 잠들었다가 깼더니 거의 도착했는데, 방콕 시내 뒷 골목은 예나 지금이나 쿰쿰하네요.
I fell asleep for about 30 minutes and when I woke up, we were almost there. The back alleys of Bangkok still smell musty, just as they always have.
지난번에도 왔던 것 같은 비슷한 분위기.
The atmosphere was similar to the last time I came here.
숙소도 그때 그 숙소처럼 엘리베이터도 없고, 도미토리 같아 보이는…
Just like last time, the accommodation has no elevator and looks like a dormitory...
그 때의 트라우마가 스멀스멀 올라오네요.

그래도 3시간만 잠시 머물렀다 갈거니깐.
Anyway, we're only going to stay for 3 hours.
가격은 3인이서 침대 2개에 16,000원.
The price was 16,000 KRW for two beds for three people.
복도엔 화장실 냄새가 순찰을 돌고 있으니 절대 콧구멍 조차 내보내지 말것.
The hallway smells like a restroom, so don't even poke your nose out.
에어콘은 리모콘이 고장났는지 30도에서 내려올 생각이 없고 버튼도 안 눌리네요.
The air conditioner remote control seemed broken, stuck at 30 degrees, and the buttons wouldn't press.
배터리를 뺐다가 끼우니 작동은 합디다.
It worked after I took the batteries out and put them back in.
혹시나 에어콘 성능이 후질까봐 16도까지 내려놓고 어느새 잠이 들어 버렸는데, 새벽에 추워서 깨버렸어요.
I was worried the AC might be weak, so I set it to 16 degrees and fell asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night, freezing.
성능은 확실하네요.
It definitely works well.
새벽 6:30 쪽잠은 여기까지만.
That's enough of a nap at 6:30 AM.
얼른 짐만 챙기고 나와서 택시를 잡으려니, 출근길이라 그런지 차가 엄청 막히네요.
I quickly packed up and went out to get a taxi, but since it was rush hour, traffic was terrible.
7:10분인데 7:45분 차를 놓칠것 같은 불안함.
It was 7:10 AM, and I was worried I would miss the 7:45 AM train.
다행이도 우리나라 교통 상황보다는 나쁘진 않은 듯.
Fortunately, it didn't seem as bad as the traffic in Korea.
전통시장인지 커다란 청과물 시장에서 바나나와 튀김 요리 등 요깃거리를 사서 기차에 탔어요.
I bought some snacks like bananas and fried food from a big fruit and vegetable market, which might have been a traditional market, and got on the train.
옛날 한국에 있던 비둘기호 같은 열차가 아직도 굴러다닙니다.
Trains like the old "Bidulgi-ho" in Korea are still running here.
사실 이쯤되면 우리나라는 내부를 완전 개조해서라도 깔끔하게 리모델링 할텐데.
Honestly, by now in Korea, they would have completely renovated the inside to make it clean and modern.
여긴 에어콘도 없고, 창문도 옛날 방식 그대로 60-70년대 분위기를 지금도 연출해주네요.
But here, there's no air conditioning, and the windows are still the old style, giving off a 60s or 70s vibe even now.
한 시간 쯤 기차타고 달리니 아니 덜컹덜컹 끼익끼익 가다보니 시골풍경도 보이고 슬슬 정감 있는 장소로 깊이 들어가는 것 같아요.
After about an hour of riding the train—or more like rattling and squeaking—I started to see countryside scenery and felt like we were getting deeper into a charming, rustic place.
아 우리딸은 그 와중에 취침을….
And my daughter, meanwhile, was sleeping...
여기까진 좋았는데.....
Everything was good up to this point...
욕심을 부려서 계획이 하나 둘 어그러지기 시작해요.
But then I got greedy, and my plans started to fall apart one by one.
